Info
A meditative exhibition at the crossroads of the natural world and digital technology.
As part of the initiative Connected through Art, launched following the closure of our physical spaces since October, we are offering an online guided tour of our exhibition presented at the Centre PHI during the summer season.
The video recording of Émergences et convergences was produced for the Festival Ars Electronica, a world-class event dedicated to art and technology that showcases digital works by renowned artists.
Held largely online from September 9 to 13, 2020, PHI participated in one of the virtual gardens by presenting its exhibition Émergences et convergences.
PHI also presented a discussion hosted by curator and Director of the Fondation PHI pour l’art contemporain, Cheryl Sim. She was joined by artists George Fok, Katherine Melançon and Moritz Wehrmann.
The exhibition
Émergences et convergences brings together works that contemplate space at the intersection of the self, digital technology, the built environment and the natural world. It explores the effects of confinement on our collective consciousness. How has this experience of deprivation forced us to reassess our priorities and values as a universal community? How has it helped renew our connection with nature? The Centre PHI exhibition highlights complex explorations of a future where the fusion of nature and technology could become a new ecology.
“Émergences et convergences is an invitation to immerse yourself in an exhibition addressing the theme of humanity and its relationship with the planet, as well as all living beings. After months of lockdown, we have an opportunity to rethink our values and understand what tomorrow will be made of.”
-Phoebe Greenberg, founder and director of PHI
