For your parents – if they ask you… :

Who is organizing this event? This event is developed by the Mouvement montréalais Les Filles & le code (MMFC), a project of Concertation Montréal (CMTL). Its goal is to maximize the potential of Montréal initiatives to bring more girls to develop the skills of the future. Concertation Montréal (CMTL)’s mission is to develop the region through consultation. To this end, it brings together socio-economic leaders and municipal elected officials from the island of Montréal in order to initiate and support innovative and structuring regional initiatives. The organization is recognized by the agglomeration of Montréal as its privileged interlocutor in matters of intersectoral consultation and regional development.

What is the goal of this event? The aim of this evening is to promote technology among teenage girls by emphasizing its creative scope, in order to spark their interest in careers and training in the field. Only 20% of jobs related to the production of information and communications technologies are held by women. During this evening, we want to allow teenage girls to identify with girls their own age who are already involved in various tech projects, and to concretely demonstrate what is being created in technology-related design so they can optimize their own creative potential. Who knows, perhaps it will be an opportunity to spark the interest of some of them in a field of activity related to technology?

Who will be speaking during this evening?  On site, the teenage girls will be able to meet a large number of young professionals, researchers and artists who use technology daily, organizations working in digital literacy, and young girls who have developed innovative technological projects.

Is it far from the metro? La Factry is a 4-minute walk from Bonaventure metro. On site, volunteers will escort the teenage girls from the metro to the event and back.

Is it free? Yes, the event is completely free.
