Rouge Mékong
In 2010, Françoise Lavoie Pilote, supported by many collaborators, presented an interactive piece entitled Ocean Motelat Oboro studio. In 2012, the
desire to bring
the experience and poetry of Ocean Motel to the Satosphère at the Société des arts technologiques in Montréal became the starting point for Rouge Mékong. Rouge Mékong is an immersive and interactive work that combines image, sound, light and presence. The project draws on a universe that is
both intimate
and sensory. It evokes travel, memory and the river as a place of passage, while inviting spectators to enter a space where their gestures and movements influence what they see and hear. The piece was

developed
with a team of artists and
technicians who brought together several tools. Arduino and Max made it possible to create responsive interactions, while sound and lighting systems gave the installation its immersive character. Ableton Live and other digital tools contributed to
a
sound environment
that could evolve with the performance. The Satosphère offered an ideal space for this research. Its dome changes the way spectators perceive scale and

remainingoutside the work, visitors are placed inside a field of images and sounds. They become part of the experience, shifting the balance
between observation and
participation. Rouge Mékong also shows the importance of collaboration
in digital creation. Theworkexists through the meeting of stage direction, programming, music, projection, lighting and live performance.
Each element
supports the others and helps
builda poetic environment inwhichtechnology serves emotion. For Françoise
LavoiePilote and her collaborators, the project extends the spirit of OceanMotel while opening it toalarger, immersive form. It demonstrates how digital tools can transform a personal imaginary
world
into a collective
experience, carried
by
memory,
water,
light andsound.
