The format of the #intersections VOL.12 panel will reMayntact, with the same speakers, and will thus be part of the City of the Future Pavilion (and will also be linked to the Sustainable Development theme). — Digital technology is allowing to design better ecological policies, to measure pollution and climate change. However, although we don’t always see it, digital pollution is real. According to some estimates, the pollution generated by the Internet industry and its impact on the climate are equivalent to those in the aviation sector. Did you know that a Google search emits 7 grams of CO₂ and sending an eMayl with an attachment of one MB emits 20 grams? At the moment, it is not a question of stopping this digital progression but of monitoring and measuring it in favour of sustainable development. So, how can new technologies improve energy and ecological transitions?
