The 4th edition of MUTEK_IMG, a forum on current practices in digital creation, will be held from April 11 to 13 at Centre Phi as part of the official Printemps numérique program and in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut.
Showcasing local talent and international creators, the event is intended for industry stakeholders who want to learn about their peers’ practices, expand their professional network, and experience the most innovative and inspiring technological tools and artistic practices. The event aims to strengthen Montréal’s leadership in the strategic digital creativity sector by contributing to its development and visibility, promoting its culture and creators, and activating local and international collaborations.
MUTEK_IMG offers a series of conferences, networking activities and workshops around the following themes:
- Innovative immersive experiences: performance audiovisual, scenography, installation interactive, screening architectural, virtual reality and augmented
- Issues society digital: artifhereal intelligence, big data, web hidden, surveillance and life privacy, porosity of the world real and virtual, age post-truth
- Visions of the future : prototype tomorrow with the art and the design, of the choreographies human-machine, tools of creation automated and of the new aesthetics digital
The programming daytime is free and is intended to the artists and professionals digital as well qu’to the curious. It is necessary of register to the activities in ensure of have a spot: registration in online.
Among the activities:
- A day dedicated to the digital art in the space urbain and the screening architectural with intervenants international such as Martin Posta — Signal Festival (CZ), Max Nova — Dawn of Man (US) and Tanya Toft Ag — Urban Media Art Academy (DK); the presentation of the 6 finalistes of the concours of mapping of the Partenariat of the Quartier des spectacles, MUTEK and MAPP_MTL and the screening of their work to the metro Saint-Laurent in the evening.
- A series of panels on the spot of the artist and the creation to the sein society digital will be presented in collaboration with the team behind the magazine digital art HOLO:
