Webinar: Impact of the pandemic on young people’s career choices

Career choice is a major source of stress for young people. Now imagine having to make that decision in the uncertain and anxiety-inducing context of a global pandemic…

As we have repeatedly seen in the media in recent months, the pandemic has had a particularly devastating effect on the morale and mental health of teenagers and young adults. But what about its effect on their educational and career guidance process?

Have young people used the pandemic to think more about their career choices? Has their perception of certain sectors, especially those affected by the pandemic, changed? Are they more or less interested in working in health care? Or in becoming entrepreneurs? Are they more anxious about entering the labour market? What can parents do to better support them in their career-planning process during a crisis?

On February 16, as part of Hooked on School Days, Academos and Desjardins invite you to the unveiling of the report Impact of the pandemic on the career choices of Québec and Canadian students, based on a large survey answered by 4,200 young people aged 14 to 30.

During this webinar, we will present the report’s main findings and offer advice to parents to help them better support their children in their career choices.
