2,000 People Were at the McCord for the Launch of Printemps numérique
Who said digital creativity was niche? Throughout last Thursday evening, 2,000 visitors gathered atthe McCord Museum for the launchof the fourth edition of Printemps numériqueunder the theme Montréal Fashion Tech. Mehdi Benboubakeur, in charge of the organization, described the kickoff as incredible and said the program’s popularity shows that the meeting of digital technology with different industries interests thegeneral public and isincreasingly part of a desire for democratization. Until midnight,the museum becamea high-tech creative laboratory. DJs ROUX Soundsystem and AndFriends created the festive atmosphere. Visitors drew virtual dresses with Imagine 360°, usedBanque Nationale’s photo booth, tested Stefanka’s smart fitting room and felt music pulses with the SUBPAC vest. Mapping by MAPP_MTL, the next generation of futuristic fashion and the secrets of connected fashion were also in the spotlight. PixMob proposed an innovative networking methodwitha luminous smart
bracelet that exchanges contact information when wrists touch. DJ Abeille Gélinas, ambassador of Printemps numérique, was on site to discover
the rich
offering of creators. She emphasized that digital culture is for everyone andis already all aroundus; Printemps numérique brings together morethan
a hundred activities

The very first Printemps numérique has just concluded in a burst of energy. Over three months, more than 100,000 people took part in activities presented by some sixty organizations, confirming Montréal’s role as a major hub for digital arts and creativity.
