IA & Toi Workshop at Louis-Joseph-Papineau High School: A Day Rich in Discovery and Reflection
On June 5, multimedia arts students at Louis-Joseph-Papineau High School took part in the first IA & Toi workshop, a new Printemps numériqueinitiative offered to Québechigh
schools. The workshop aims to demystify
artificial intelligence and help young people use the technology ethically, creatively and critically. Students discussed their real-life uses of generative AI,explored
the first junior module on the IA &Toi platform and reflected
on how AI worksand affects their daily lives. The day ended with an introduction tothe IA & Toi Challenge,a provincial competition
in which
youth create a digitalavatar of a historical Québec figure. For this first activity, students designed an avatar of
Louis-Joseph Papineau,connected to the identity of their school.
The experience encouraged curiosity,
criticalthinking and
creativity,showing how
playful and participatory approaches can helpstudents understand complex technologies.
