DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY WILL MAKE SPRING BLOOM
Nearly 400 people attended the unveiling of Printemps numérique yesterday at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. This initiative by the Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) de Montréal, in partnership with some thirty organizations from the creative and digital-arts sectors, will consolidate Montréal’s position as North America’s capital of digital arts. The first edition, taking place from mid-March to mid-June 2014, will highlight the vitality of digital creativity in Montréal through a broad program of events. Exhibitions, performances, conferences, installations and participatory experiences will offer residents and visitors many opportunities to discover the richness of this ecosystem. By bringing together organizations, artists and institutions, Printemps numérique creates a unifying season that showcases innovation and promotes access to digital culture. The project reflects Montréal’s ambition to position itself
internationally as a
creative, connected and forward-looking city. It also offers a platform for collaboration among the many players who contribute to the development
of
digital arts and creativity.
