Discover the MAËSTRO in You!
Great musical airs can be heard in the Quartier des spectacles thanksto MAËSTRO, ATOMIC3’s interactive
installation. Since May 14, Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles has allowed visitors to become
conductors of its outdoor fountains through the work of

its founders, Félix Dagenais and Louis-Xavier Gagnon-Lebrun. The installation transforms
a public
- space into a playful orchestra.
- By interacting with the system,
- participants influence water, light and
- music, creating the impression that they areconducting a performance
in the middle of the city. The project uses digital tools such as Max and

Max for Live to coordinate the different elements. The result is accessible to everyone: no musical training is
required, only curiosity and a desire to take part. MAËSTRO also connects the public with the Orchestre symphonique

and with the cultural life of the Quartier des spectacles. It invites people to rediscover the fountains, not as urban furniture, but as instruments that can respond to gesture and presence. By combining technology, music and public space, ATOMIC3 offers a poetic andparticipatory experience. The
city
- becomes a stage, the audience
- becomes a conductor, and digital
- art becomes
- a
shared game.
