The Winners of the IA & Toi Challenge Unveiled: A Promising First Edition

March 16, the first winners of the
- IA
- &
- Toi
Challenge were announced, marking an important milestone for this
Printemps
numérique
- initiative. The
- provincial
- competition invites
high-school students to create
AI avatars
inspired by major figures from
- Québec
history and culture. The objective is to
- stimulate
creativity, encourage responsible AI use
- and
develop critical thinking around memory, heritage
- and
deepfakes. Seven high schools took part,
eight
winners were recognized
- and $2,000 in main
- prizes were awarded.
- Projects ranged from
- historical re-enactments to
future-oriented
narratives. Awards recognized creativity, living history, messages for the future, voice use, scenario
writing,
interaction with audiences and committed
- voices. The
- first
edition shows
that AI
can become atool for expression, cultural explorationand civic reflection.
