NUMIX AWARDS 2017: THE FINALISTS REVEALED!
The Regroupement des producteurs multimédia (RPM) revealed on April 10 the 65 finalists competing for the 2017 NUMIXAwards. For eight years, the NUMIX Awards gala has recognized excellence in digital media in Québec. This now essential gathering highlights the diversity of Montréal creators while helping emerging creativity shine.
Out of 160 submissions, 65 projects were selected by a 33-member jury chaired by Benoît Giguère, senior director of design, interactivity and user experience for digital projects at La Presse. Thewinners will be announced during the NUMIX Awards Gala,a major festive evening on May 18 at the Théâtre du Monument-National. Twenty-fourawards will be presented in the six main categories: communication and promotion, cultural production, game production, emerging companies, web TV production, and entertainment and media. This 2017 edition also gives the next generation an important place. INSTANCE, a project byUQAM interactive-media graduates proposing an artificial intelligence for Montréal, is among the three finalists in the Digital Art / Cultural Production category. is that the START-UP awards are now included within the NUMIX Awards. Three awards will be presented in the emerging company category, and a special start-up day for the independent video-game industry is planned for April 26.
