Reflections from inventive ambassadors
Mélissa Mongiat and Mouna Andraos spark the imagination of audiences around the world. The creative duorecently won the prestigious UNESCO Shenzhen Young Talent Design Award for their project 21 Balançoires,
which will
once again delight residents and visitors to the metropolis starting April 11. The spokespersons for Printemps numérique share their vision ofthis
promising season.
How did you fall into digital technology? Technologyhas always been a material for us, a way to create experiences that bring people together and transform their
relationship to the
city. We are interested in how people interact with objects, spacesand one
another. Digital tools allow us
to create playful, poetic and participatory situations that invite the public to take part. What does Printemps numérique represent for Montréal? It is a wonderful opportunity
to make visible
a very active ecosystem. Montréal is full of artists, designers, researchers and organizations that are inventing new forms of creation. Bringing them together under one banner helps the public understand the
richness of this
field andencourages encounters between disciplines.
What do you hope the
public will discover? We hope people will be surprised, curious and inspired. Digital art is not only
about screens or
machines; it is also about human experience, emotion, participation and collective imagination. Printemps
numérique can
show how technology can become a tool for creativity, connection
and
reflection.
