SPRING WILL BE DIGITAL IN MONTRÉAL
The Printemps numérique program will be unveiled this evening before nearly 300 people at the Musée d’art contemporain. The public will be able to discover 77 events presented by no fewer than 56 organizations, supported by the Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) de Montréal and many institutional and media partners. This edition is intended to be the first of an annual season offering the public and tourists a myriad of discoveries: interactive spaces, immersive experiences, exhibitions, performances, concerts, conferences and workshops. The goal is to showcase the strength of Montréal’s digital creativity and make it accessible to a broad audience. From March 21 to June 21, 2014, the city will beanimated by a program that reflects the diversity and vitality of its digital-artsecosystem. Printemps numérique will bring together creators, cultural organizations, institutions and citizens around acommon ambition: to make Montréal shine as aleading city for digital arts in
North America. By consolidating activities that were previously
scattered across
the calendar, the initiative creates a strong collective identity and encourages collaboration among the sector’s many players. It also allows audiences
to
better understand
the importance
of digital
culture and the role it plays in the city’s creative and economic development.
