Jeunesse QC 2030
TOWARD EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY Québec
is recognized in the digital field, with a dynamic entrepreneurial scene and an important place for digital arts in culture. The province has also adopted a Digital Action Plan for Education and Higher Education to support the development of digital skills. Even so, young Quebecers still face difficulties in accessing and learning digital technology, depending on their economic situation, language, place of residence, gender and social background. The Jeunesse QC 2030 project
by Printemps numérique, supported by the Secrétariat à la jeunesse du Québec and presented by Hydro-Québec, aims to reduce these inequalities. It offers digital-literacy programs for young people aged 13 to 29 to help them become informed digital citizens. The project is deployed
in schools, post-secondary institutions and third places through events such as Digital Cafés and CODE Avenir. Its goal is to provide concrete solutions that help young people develop critical and creative digital skills. In 2018, Printemps
numérique also created Québec’s Youth Digital Literacy Roundtable. This initiative brings together members of public and private organizations to improve the quality of digital education. The Jeunesse QC
2030 project is supported by the Secrétariat à la jeunesse du Québec and presented by Hydro-Québec.
