Projects
DigiLab #1 – State of Mind

Through a virtual reality headset and a spatialized soundtrack, participants can explore 3 audiovisual tableaux of emotions linked to the need for freedom and the difficulties of fulfilling it. The narrative construction of the scenes is inspired by the mechanics of dreams.
State of Mind is a project created by the artist collective Fantazəm, composed of Maximilien Simard-Poirier, Myriam Boucher, Pierre-Luc Lecours, and Philippe Quinn. The project was carried out in collaboration with the independent video game studio Artifact5, Gameplay Space and the Centre de développement et de recherche en imagerie numérique (CDRIN).
DigiLab #2 – Hétérotopie

Hétérotopie is an abstract, non-narrative 3D animation work inspired by the sublime face of the Quartier de l’innovation and the City of Montréal. Hétérotopie was created using the LiDAR (light detection and ranging) system. It is a digital and graphically monochromatic reinterpretation of a place and of the relationship established with that space, while contrasting the architectural aspect and concrete textures with particle forms and their organic movement.
Hétérotopie is a project created by artists Samy Lamouti and Sam Chenennou (Sam&Sam) in collaboration with the company Olameter and the Quartier de l’innovation.
DigiLab #3 – Semer Montréal

Semer Montréal is an interactive and educational project to raise awareness about the issue of genetic heritage (seeds) and promote healthy eating in Montréal. The Three Sisters (squash, corn, beans), the Montréal melon and the tomato plant were chosen to highlight the places and food initiatives that are transforming Montréal into fertile ground. This DigiLab is the first milestone in a collaboration between the digital and food sectors, where Montréal expertise from both sides will be brought together.
A project created by artist Fred Trétout, in collaboration with the Système Alimentaire Montréalais (SAM).
DigiLab #4 – Artistic architecture in a Fablab

Artist Jonathan Villeneuve, in residence in spring 2016 at école secondaire Pierre-Laporte (CSMB), guided 33 students in creating 3D architectures. This digital art project allowed young people to discover Jonathan Villeneuve’s artistic practice and to take ownership of the creative potential of their Fablab. Guided by educator Yves Amyot, the students created a utilitarian or imaginary architecture using, among other tools, the 3D printer and laser cutting.
A project created by artist Jonathan Villeneuve, in collaboration with the école secondaire Pierre-Laporte and the Centre Turbine.
DigiLab #5
This DigiLab offers an exploration route through the Atwater neighbourhood in virtual reality. Participants can discover, in a playful digital way, the planning project for a neighbourhood they visit regularly. Citizens can learn about the current facilities and about the greening and quality-of-life improvement project in the area. Artist Julie Chaffarod worked on this project in collaboration with MTL Ville en mouvement. Due to several difficulties, particularly the transfer of 3D components to the VR module, DigiLab #5 could not be completed.
